History

NTC Contracting is a privately owned, medium-size Earthmoving & Civil Engineering Construction Company with around 80 staff, based in Onslow, a small town situated on the coast of Wesrtern Australia 1,400km north of perth and 300km south of Karratha.
Operating over a 500km radius from this location NTC are ideally situated to supply an effective service to the mining and natural resource industries in the Pilbara and the Gascoyne regions of WA.

Initially Northern Transport Company was established around 1950 by the McAullay family providing a road freight service in Onslow. In 1998 Chris and Richard Evans purchased the company from the McAullay family. As Northern Transport Co they established a long term contract with the Onslow Salt Pty Ltd in 2001 to haul salt from the Onslow Salt crystalliser ponds to its washing & processing plant for shipment overseas. For this project Northern Transport Co acquired a haulage fleet of 7 road trains using double side-tippers to haul raw salt for a 9 km lead on a 24-hour–seven-days per week which provided in excess of 1 million tonnes salt per annum for export.
NTC Contracting evolved through Northern Transport Co primarily to provide an earthmoving service to meet the needs of many of the local mining industries operating around the Pilbara-Gascoyne region.
Our company steadily grew to its current level which now owns and operates a range of new earthmoving plant and equipment supported by a modern fleet of heavy haulage trucks, trailers and road trains.
Since commencing contract work in 2001, NTC Contracting has established an excellent reputation in the area as an efficient earthmoving & civil construction business with an experienced management team, well-skilled operators and providing an extensive range of reliable plant & equipment, maintained by its own workshop staff.
