Wheatstone Project - Early Works Civil

In 2011, NTC Contracting was awarded the Early Works Civil subcontract by Bechtel, Chevron Australia’s downstream engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contractor. The subcontract was the first contract on the Chevron-operated Wheatstone Project following NTC’s qualification as a first tier contractor to Bechtel.

NTC Contracting is an Onslow-based business that provides a mix of local experience and knowledge gained from previous regional resources contracts. As a result of Wheatstone Project subcontracts, NTC has expanded its local workforce, employing over 120 staff.

Since starting work on Wheatstone in November 2011, NTC has achieved over 250,000 hours Lost Time Injury (LTI) free whilst working on some of the following scopes:

  • Earthworks
  • Drainage Installation
  • Road Maintenance
  • Warehouse Operations
  • Air-conditioning Maintenance
  • Pipeline Installation
  • Sewer installation including leach fields
  • Concrete foundations
  • Communications installation
  • Modular Building installation


Temporary Facilities Works

NTC has been awarded additional subcontracts on the Wheatstone Project including the 2013 Temporary Facilities Works scope.  Work included under this contract includes road construction and sealing, line marking, drainage construction and warehouse support.
